Can Someone Please Explain the Appeal of Build Videos?

Okay, so I have noticed right now build videos seem to be most popular among YouTube watching sims fans. And not to be rude in any way, but I honestly don't get the appeal of them. Sure, I love to see...

For me it's a combo of seeing the finished product and also how they got to that stage. It's seeing new ideas or ways to do things. ^_^
