Some people seem completely ignorant to the fact that while modern medicine is amazing in a lot of ways-there are still any number of conditions that medical science has yet to properly identify, understand or treat effectively. Many conditions people can develop at any time with no prior warning and may have to live as well as they can with it for the rest of their lives. I have no idea why people would think someone would *want* to be affected by illness of any type and why they can't offer compassion instead of derision for being affected in such a way.
And some like me have life-threatening allergic reactions to medications to treat these conditions, so have no medical treatment options at all.
Yep, I had to stop taking triptans (one of the most common migraine treatments) because one type lost its effectiveness and the next type I tried in the same family gave me an allergic reaction - not deadly, but it might have been if I had taken a full dose or had tried to take it again. I'm lucky that some other options were effective :/
I use to take that as well and ended up having to come off of it. I take tramadol and flexeril now, my migraine triggers come from different offsets including from my own illness. Even sometimes it's strong and i have to just sit in the dark and turn off all lights and sound and try to avoid what's causing the head ache.
