Can you buy published books?

That sucks. I always liked being able to keep the copies of the books my sims wrote and have other sims buy them and read them as well.

Necro ALERT! That only works for current households and is a new feature since this thread was last discussed. It still doesn't allow other households to purchase published books.

Seriously, you added new information to a question people had, thank you for doing so.

If you are now able to make copies of your books, I suppose you could put them in a public library for others to read. I do not know if you can bring them to the library and leave them there, or if you would have to make your lot into a library, but it could work.

I hadn't noticed the option to copy a book so thanks.

My question is can sims sell copies of their books in GTW?

Hello @luimistelija. You can sell your books in GTW. You can set up a bookstore to sell your books. If you drag your book from your inventory onto a table or counter it will sit up with its own stand.

Thanks for the new info! I just started working on the bestselling author aspiration and will be self-publishing for awhile. Eventually, I want to open my own bookstore and sell my work.

I have figured out a way to keep books without a mod. Take the book from your sim's inventory and put it on a table. When you click on the book, you will have the option to "make a copy". Do that and another copy of the book shows up in your sim's inventory. Then put the original book back in your inventory and publish it as usual. The copy will stay in your inventory or you can put it on your bookshelf.

If you have Get to Work, make a copy of your original, you could open a bookstore, your book won't be published, but its another way to see sims have your book.
