Real life as a Sim? Sounds too much like George Orwell's 1984 to me. Who wants 'Big Brother' watching you all the time in total control of your very existence? Would you like to live knowing at any moment you could find yourself stuck in a fenced in pool, walled up in a room with fireworks or sent outside during a blizzard in your undies? Or worse yet, made to live a life of having baby after baby after baby until you die? Um, no thanks! :D
There would be distinct advantages, of course, I mean hello Motherlode! But it's up to 'Big Brother' to implement that, you have no control. You could live in a big mansion with everything your little Simmy heart desires, or end up a homeless bum sleeping on a bench, in your undies, during a blizzard, covered in filth from peeing yourself and starving to death.
It all depends on what 'Big Brother' feels like doing with you on any given day. Woe to you if 'Big Brother' had a bad day and you do something to anger them. 'POOF' You're gone! Orrrr, Big Brother might just give you to a vampire to live your life in a basement holding cell as a 'living' blood bag, aging off so you 'live' like that forever. Sounds like fun eh?
I would be scared to death if I found myself suddenly a Sim. I'd probably eat some poorly made Pufferfish Nigiri on purpose and end it all myself before 'Big Brother' had a chance to toy with me. IF, of course, IF I had full autonomy and was able to do stuff on my own. If not? God help you my friend, unless your 'Big Brother' isn't a deviant player and likes to keep their Sims happy, you're doomed! :#

Now, on the flip side of the coin if you meant everyone is a Sim and there are no Watchers or Big Brother and you could pick your own fate, that would be idyllic! You could live forever, have any job you want, gain skills instantly, have a big mansion, have a baby in just three days, then age it up immediately if you get sick of the crying and dirty diapers.
You could be a vampire for awhile if you wished then mix up a drink to be a regular Sim and maybe the next time eat some kelp and become a beautiful mermaid in Paradise. Sick of that? Just eat some more kelp and become a regular Sim again. Hey, let's go the the Realm of Magic and become a Spellcaster next! Or maybe build a rocket and go to Sixam, etc., etc., etc., ad infinitum. Oh yeah, I would love a world full of infinite possibilities and adventures like that, definitely. <3
