Cross posted to EA Help forum, but though you wizards might know the answer before they get back to me:I was cleaning up the Family Inventory, and saw an object "grilled food," which must have appeared after a grill or some table was auto-moved into the inventory. I was unable to sell or delete the item, just drag it into the world. I thought perhaps the Sims would be able to throw it away, so I dropped it in the middle of their kitchen (bad idea!). Now the grilled food has gone bad, which gives them the Uncomfortable debuff, while they refuse to pick up the food. I'm also unable to delete it in Buy/Build mode or even pick it up to move it elsewhere. Shift+Click with cheats enabled only gives the option to Reset Object, not to delete it. Reset does nothing. I found a workaround, but it was hardly ideal....I built a room around the grilled food, then used Move Room to drag the room outside into the yard. From there I was able to use the sledgehammer to delete the quarantine room and everything in it, which luckily, included the grilled food!This left me with a hole in the kitchen, but I was able to drag over the empty space to re-fill in the foundation and floor.Hilariously, the grilled food is now back in my family inventory, but I will just leave it there until a real solution presents itself.

Yeah, drag to trash was my first try, hence why I put it in the world to begin with. Unfortunately, hovering on it doesn't give a hand, just a mouse pointer with the option for a Sim to "Throw Out" (which doesn't work).The object itself seems to be bugged. Since it's not a finished food item (like "plate of hamburgers") I suspect that the food was cooking on the grill WHEN it was initially moved to inventory. This separated it from its action object (the grill) before it was an "interactable" independent object, and hence the glitch. Mark down another one for EA to fix at some point. ;) ETA - FWIW, this could have been fixed in older Sims by using the moveobjects cheat, which is disabled in S4.

See if you can put it on a grill and finish cooking.

I have a plate *just* outside the boundary of my lot. I can't do anything with it because it's not on my lot.

@wamberella Thank-u so much 4 your fix....I was going nuts w/some "mid-cooked" kebabs that I had placed in the middle of my lot (not the smartest place apparently). Now they r GONE!! So yeah..THANK-U =)

I built a room around the grilled food, then used Move Room to drag the room outside into the yard. From there I was able to use the sledgehammer to delete the quarantine room and everything in it, which luckily, included the grilled food!

This left me with a hole in the kitchen, but I was able to drag over the empty space to re-fill in the foundation and floor.

Hilariously, the grilled food is now back in my family inventory, but I will just leave it there until a real solution presents itself.

The only idea I've got is that if i'ts in the world and you're not in build/buy that you try drag/drop to a trashcan. Good luck whatever! B)

Here's a thought: could you drop it on a community lot, then go in to edit the community lot and delete it? That might not work, since going into build mode in your home did not work. However, I noticed at the Rattlesnake Bar that someone had made coffee that had gone bad. I could not have my Sim clean it up, but after I sent her home I was able to enter the lot to edit it and could delete and replace the coffee pot. Just a thought.

Same thing happened to me with hotdogs. The only way I was able to get rid of them was to go in B/B and place them in the family/house inventory. There they remain because they can't be sold or deleted.
