Just to give an example of what I'm talking about, let's enumerate the amount of performance it takes to go from level 9 to 10 and say it's 1500.
If a normal sim gets 500 per day, and a sim with all the bonuses gets 700 per day, it will still take both sims 3 workdays to promote and the extra 600 that the second sim earned goes nowhere. So this might not necessarily mean the traits aren't doing anything. This may (or may not) be easier to see on sims that don't do the daily task, don't work hard, and don't go to work in the right mood. But yeah, it is totally possible that they just don't work properly.
Each time the performance meter maxed, they got promoted. So I'm not following why tracking the meter would be more beneficial. I don't really care how fast each meter is filled, only that is took all sims, regardless of traits, perks, or none, all spent the same amount of career/work days in the career, save for one day for Sim A and Sim B, when they spent an extra day in other levels cause of bad chance cards. So the "extra" means nothing, as they don't get extra performance past max to get promotion, regardless, in this game.
If Perk gives "700" a day, and reward gives "650" a day, and none gives "500" a day, and you need "1000" to promote, it's still gonna take all sims 2 days to promote, so, the rewards are useless as my sim without them will still promote on day 2. If they are gonna say a sim is more likely to get promoted with the reward trait, it should be true. And it's not.
