@Dijktafone the question is WHY we have to do things properly? The game should already account for Sim players trolling and give you an appropriate (bad) score just like The Sims 3 does. It simply shows a serious lack of depth when a career that makes up a small portion of an EP was able to take this into account and the $20 pack wasn't.
It's also really hard to compare the two because THE PRICING has to be considered as well. You're paying $20 for 1/8 of a $40 EP. So you're literally paying TWICE as much for... what? Two new animations? A before/after slideshow?
The Sims 3 Ambitions had five active careers (Interior Designer, Ghost Hunter, Firefighter, Stylist and Private Eye), a semi-active career (BG Doctor), a rabbit-hole career (Education), twonew skills with tons of new items (Inventing and Sculpting both include a dozen of exclusive items), the tattooing skill and system (the best tattoo system ever seen in a Sims game), a new world with 82 lots, new lifetime wishes and rewards, SIX new traits, the LAUNDRY system, new outdoor entertainment such as the trampoline and Gnubb game, consignment shops, junkyards, detonation, new upgrades for electronics, plumbing and appliances, an overhauled real estate system, earthquakes and meteor strikes, and much more.
It's just INSANE the amount of content a Sims 3 pack would have vs. what The Sims 4 offers. And on top of that, the content is buggy AF.
What Ambitions gave us is all about how much% of it are we using. Personally, to this day, only home design and Stylist. Not to discount this E.P., it's one, if not MY favorite of TS3.
Why do we have to do things properly? Because we have to set a standard relating both to give informed intel to the audience onto which, 'hey here's the difference between both'. Also because some players actually take it seriously? Somebody took 45 minutes to redisign the Partihaus Household and were proud of it. So, kudos to them. Also, that proves serious players exist, so let's tell them what they get for being serious.
A review should be neutral, exposing pros and cons in the same video. 'Here's what you get, here's what you have to work against'. This gives the veiwer the tools to decide. Nobody's judging them if they want or not this expansion. It is their choice/mistake to make.
I'm not advocating for the new GP, I'm advocating for giving the undecise player all the tools they might need to make their decision, which IDT Carl's 'REVIEW' did. No wonder why some players on this here post feel like they didn't learn anything.
