CAS Screenshot Horribly Blurry

I'm not sure I understand the problem, but the game is designed so that things look better up close (there are different LODs). Can you show an example of what would be a good full-body screenshot (like something from another creator)?

You could try this GraphicsRules Override or GraphicsRules Setters.
Altering the GraphicsRules file will increase the quality of graphics. Use the first link if you want easy copy/paste. Second option if you would like to fine tune some of the options.

I'm not totally sure this will solve your issue. You could also try taking screenshots with Answers HQ anyway.

I'll try those, SimplyJen, thanks. I had some trouble a few days ago updating my game. The stupid EA app kept throwing errors. I finally got frustrated and re-installed my game so I wonder if that has anything to do with my problem. I tried repairing the game, as well. I hadn't thought of using the snipping tool. That's a good idea. I did try taking a screenshot using the print screen button but it didn't seem to be any better. I may submit a bug report but I'm questioning whether this is a problem that's normal or if I'm imagining things. Maybe it's my monitor. Maybe it's Maybelline! Sorry. Couldn't resist. :)

What I don't understand is why you need to "zoom" in the picture editing program if you need a face shot? Why not zoom in CAS already.

If you need to crop/resize the image , I would do it from the close up picture:

I don't need a face shot. I need at least a 3/4 body shot but when I take a full body or 3/4 body shot the face looks terrible. It's just that I haven't made anything for TS4 in about a year and I don't remember the faces looking that bad in full body and 3/4 body shots. I was worried something was wrong with my game or worse, my computer. I thought there was a way around the problem but it doesn't look as if there is.

Oh, any image will look like that if you zoom in to a larger size than the image has pixels.
When you zoom the camera in within the game, it's generating a new image that looks closer up but it's the same number of pixels. That's why the quality doesn't degrade inn the same way.

Update: Mauvemorn at Sims4Studio.com is awesome as usual. I asked over there and she said that people are ripping sims, posing them in Blender, then rendering screenshots from that. I haven't tried this yet, but I think that may very well be the solution I've been looking for.

Try updating your graphics driver. Any time you run into graphics issues, this should be your first step. For laptops: Go directly to the manufacturers website. For desktop: Go to the Nvidia website for drivers.

Yes, it's set to uncompressed.

I tried it without mods and in live mode as well as in CAS and it looks okay on my screen but the full body screenshots are terrible, particularly in the face. Screenshots of faces up close both in live mode and in CAS look good. I'm going to try updating the driver and see if that help. Maybe it's my monitor?
