I wouldn't have thought so. We were all kids playing the Sims once too and we weren't wanting decor all the time. I played the Sims 1 from age 8 or 9 and I still want the same stuff I've always wanted from the Sims, particularly a good game with outstanding gameplay. I don't see how kids today are any different in that respect.
