Hello. You may like to also press " me too" on this thread on the AHQ EA site. http://answers.ea.com/t5/The-Sims-4-Bug-Reports/OPEN-Bassinet-won-t-change-color-with-design-tool/m-p/5009993#M18087
If you're like me and it's super bothersome, there's a somewhat complicated fix. Move the family out of the house, go into build mode on the house they just moved out of, add the crib in the color you want, move family back in. As long as you select "sell furniture" both times it won't affect the funds of the household either.
1. Go to manage worlds. 2. Move the baby in the crib/bassinet which you desire to change to another family. 3. Go back to the babes original home. 4. Delete unwanted crib. 5. Go to build/buy to obtain the desired crib/bassinet and place. 6. Go back to manage worlds and move the baby back to it's original home. 7. Enjoy.
I for one don't mind stereotyping colors, I actually love it and it also annoys me that I can't have a girly or boyish room for my kids cause of the limitation of being able to pick the color. So cribs are even worse that other objects, at least I can recolor them.
