Changing Which Random Townies Get Generated

Is it possible to change which Townies come up for random generation? I'd like to see a different bunch come up instead of the same ones every time.
Or can I get into a folder somewhere and delete or change a couple of those randos to either keep them from showing up or fix the bad name/dumb haircut they insist on from showing up in my game?

Typical TS4 fashion sense is atrocious at the best of times. there is a thread for this already to poke fun at it in a tongue in cheek kind of way:

You'd be lucky the game could generate anything nice looking, let alone flattering.

If i have understood your question properly, the pre-made townies are always there on every new start up of the game, but the game does generate townies around and about. your best bet is to edit those townies as they come along if they really look horrible, both name and clothes, make sure it is done from the manage worlds in households to get full edit mode.

if you run MC, you can control townie generation and if you get into the console commends in MC settings, you can flip the switch there to have full edit CAS when you modify a sim from household in MC, which saves having to leave the game for the manage worlds to get at it.

The pre-mades can be manually deleted if you wish it, you can do that from the households in manage worlds before you place your own sim down on a lot, just click one of the households in the listing and delete the household, rinse and repeat.
  • You can delete them from household management and new one's will be generated?

There would be little point if your sims were the only ones in the world, besides that if you got city life, a requirement is having to generate those townies as landlords anyway, not to mention all the gym instructors, librarians, bartenders, mixologists and so forth when you visit specialised lots like bars, lounges, gyms and again so forth.

You could do it yourself if you wished by getting rid of all of the townies, place yours down and then assigning NPC jobs for them (by cheating) and never returning to try play them, that way they are the ones who appear as those specific sims when you need them. in effect you can bypassa lot of townie generation so long as you fill it all in yourself.
  • Thank you for linking that townie fashion thread! I visit it now and then when I need a good laugh, and it never disappoints. I've noticed the same thing when making new sims or expanding the options on existing ones, so hideously awful one can't help but laugh.
  • Sorry for the extremely slow responses to your input, I had RL issues come up.

The fashion Police thread is a riot and if you haven't seen it yet go take a look.

This thread isn't so much about the main cast townies (Goths, Landgrabs and etc.) but the randos. Nor is it really about bad fashion but more that I'm having to catch and release the same sims over and over to change the exact same things or fix the same names. I'd kind of like to see new faces and some different names.

Making a new game doesn't seem to shuffle the random townie queue so I'll see if @Coley666's suggestion will force the game to shuffle the randomly generated sims for me.

Thanks for the help Hoverael, Coley666 and Oldseadogge.
