Steam has not been hacked. So yes, somehow someone got a hold of (yes, Stole) your private info. But the question is HOW. Steam is secure. Their user database has not been hacked.
This means you either left your credentials "lying around" somewhere, or more likely, you had a malware / virus / keylogger on your computer that you didn't know about.
In either way, Steam did not steal your information nor allow someone to steal it.
