However, when the toddler ages to kid, I may want him around with the dad more...but to reman inactive. Is there a way to keep the sim non-active but in my house for a weekend? Does the "invite to stay the night" option come up for kids?
If you have GT, set up a group with your Sim and his offspring. Then when you want him to come over you can do Start a Group Gathering. You could add as Club Activities things like Eat, Bathe and Shower and Sleep, maybe Watch TV and/or Do Homework. Then whoten you're ready for the kid to go home you can end the gathering. You won't be able to do other group activities during that time though.
