Child not going to school...again!

also have my sims kiddo sick and she cant take medicine its so annoying

Hi there! Would you believe that I JUST solved this issue with not one but TWO of my kid sims. I think that it's a bug in the newest patch. What I did to fix this, is I went on to the game options, turned on whims, and when it will say 'take medicine' and although whims can be annoying (personally) but as soon as that comes, click the suggestion and they'll do it. Another question, if that doesn't work (because that only worked for one of my sims) is do you play with mods? I play with a LOT of mods, especially script mods...which can make your game crash and do weird things like that if you aren't careful! Can you tell me if you play with mods, and which ones. The ones I use are MC Command Center, slice of life, pregnancy mega mod, teen pregnancy, extreme violence, wicked whims, wonderful whims, disabilities and more traits. The one for me that made all this stuff happen was actually a mod which I have now deleted, it was called something like Teen Career Branches...idk never used it :) but come back to me quickly and I can tell you how to solve that issue is you use mods and cc :))) thankyouuuuuuuuu have a nice day and happy simming xx

I had the same problem from a Teens can have Adult jobs mod. Once I took it out, they started going to school again...usually.

What disabilities mod?

I just had this happen last night to my Sims! I have a couple and they got sick but they didn't have any sick moodlet show up. They still went to work but even now, my one Sim keeps getting dizzy but there isn't any indication she's sick.

I don't use any mods btw so at least medicine sickness part is not mod related

I had a problem with kids and adults not going to school/work, but I had a sunken receiving area in the house which messed up routing. When I pulled that platform out, everything worked again. But if you're playing in an existing house, that's not your problem.

A workaround I discovered was to take another sim and go to a different lot, then everyone who was supposed to be at work/school would go there, but it has to be in a different neighborhood, or else they'd just come with you even if you didn't pick them.

I haven't had any sims ever get sick but I've noticed they keep doing cancelling school for so many other things. A while back it happened a few times to my sims but following the recent patch it's happening pretty regularly.
