Civil Designer career in Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack question!

I absolutely LOVED the live stream for the new EP yesterday! It totally blew me away with all the new gameplay functions and design of the build buy objects. Totally amazing.

They mentioned a new Civil Designer career in this pack.

Since I have a sim that I'd want to get that career but first go to University I am wondering what kind of degree my sim need for this new career? What do you think? Physics, Economics or something else?

Having a hard time waiting for this pack so I'd like to start her university-studies now so she can start her civil engineering career in time for the packs release

* Post edited since the title was Civil Designer not Civil engineer
  • There will be two different branches as usual, so most probably degrees will be separate too.
  • According to one of the let's plays, there are two branches: green tech and civil planner. For the green tech one, since it seems to be more engineering focused as it involves creating new technologies, one guess it is physics. However, there is a small possibility it might be biology in so far as being akin to environmental studies or bioscience.

The civil planner branch appears to be most likely urban planning (since it also unlocks enthuse about city planning interaction). IRL, these jobs usually require degrees in town planning, geography or architecture but since none of those are in game, the degree will likely be most likely economics, or to lesser extent communications.
  • It's too bad the preview copy that the game changers had did not include other packs like University (and Seasons) to show us the interactions.
  • Communications gets you an advance for the Civic Planner! And Thetford was right in that Physics does the Green Tech branch :)
  • I would guess either physics or biology but physics seems more likely. I’d say go for that one until we find out more coz you can change degrees between semesters.
  • Maybe today we'll get to know when game changers start publishing their reviews.
  • Well if you have to go to University twice at least the second time is shorter and you get two graduation photos :)
  • Thank you all for your answers! My sim just got her exam in Physics and she's now in Green tech
