Clutter and Job Promotion Gifts

Something that has really bugged me for awhile is the the way the game seems to remember achievements and jobs mastered. After 5 or 6 generations, or more, of heirs mastering their jobs, I end up with an attic full of their job rewards from promotions. As long as the rewards are there, the game remembers that the legacy has completed those jobs. But they also take up a lot of memory, and the house starts bugging out, lagging, and sims take too long to do things.

If I go in and clear all that stuff out of the attic, then it really refreshes and speeds up the house again. Except at the same time, the game has now forgotten every single job completed in the legacy and the family is back to square one.

It would be better if the game would tag the household with the completion instead of the stuff in their attic. Because you can't conceivably play a legacy for more than 8 generations if you're completing 2 or sometimes 3 jobs a generation, before the house is ridiculously laggy. My highest legacy is 13 in sims 4, but that family had to clean out their attic twice and it irritated me no end both times.

Thanks.

I've done lots of different legacy challenges, including Pinstars, though after the first time I give myself more leeway to change things up. I get bored of being on the same lot.

Anyways, what I was referring to is being able to see your unlocked rewards in the catalog. For instance you get an awesome computer for completing the Oracle career path of criminal.

If you go into the attic (family inventory) where everything goes as its earned, and delete those items without the sim who earned them still being on the lot (because they moved out or died) then it's gone from the catalog.

This matters. Consider the fridge you get from the cook culinary career. If its placed in house by the sim who earned it, they pass on, their heirs move a time or two, oops the fridge bugged out (because technically they don't "own" it) so you sell it to rebuy it for the house. Except you can't. Because no one in the current house unlocked it and now that it's gone the game doesn't remember anymore that it used to be unlocked.

Insofar as the lag I mentioned, that's something purely related.fo the.family inventory. The more full.of junk it gets, the laggier the house gets. Not the game. The house. Cleaning.caches dosen't help with that.

This seems weird, because you can use locked items in Build Mode (before a family moves in. That's the key). Once they buy it, they own it, magic piano or inspiring painting and all. Of course if they sell it they can't get another one, but it definitely say they "own" it and can use it.
