I'm a bit ocd so I always outfit them with one really cold outdoor coat, hat, mittens etc for when it's snowing, then one slightly warmer one with coat but no hat and gloves for when it's cold but not snowing, then the remaining slots are filled with warm indoor outfits for when it's cold in the house. So I make them change according to the situation.
I don't mind doing this. What does bug me is my teens going off to high school in their pyjamas and bare feet.
I do the same, even though I always have thermostats.
I basically fill up my everyday outfit slot with outfits that look like autumn and spring outfits (e.g., longer sleeves and pants, but lightweight), my summer slots of course with summery outfits, and then my cold weather slots with one coat/true outdoor ensemble, and then fill the rest of the cold weather slots with sweater + warm pants combos. Then I always have lots of options to manually change into whatever seems most appropriate.
