Collect Donations as Politican?

Question

Can anyone please tell me how I collect donations as a politician? I have a Sim who has reached the first level of the charity branch, and her daily task is to collect $50 in donations. However, under the Politician Career social interactions I only have "Debate Politics from Right/Left" and "Promote Cause". Am I missing something?

I'm guessing you have this figured out by now, but for anyone who found this thread after googling the same question...You can only collect donations from people outside your household.

It should be under the political option under friendly interactions.

I have the same problem. My Sim is a social Justice worker and the only options are "Promote Cause" and "Debate politics from the left/right". I've promoted my cause without fail throughout town, but have never been able to collect donations. There wasn't even a button for the action.
