This game can be very overwhelming. There is so much DLC to add. That's why I think it is best to add DLC is small doses. Explore one or two packs at a time. By now there is so much in the game that it's getting very challenging to play everything.
I took a long break from simming which roughly matched the sims 3 era. I never managed to get to play sims 3 with everything because I just get lost in that game. With sims 4 I was a bit late to the party but intentionally started slowly with very few DLC and gradually build up.
With the latest DLC I have noticed I often am not finished with exploring one EP when the next one releases. I still have to fully play the Life and Death gameplay while I am already building up a store in Businesses and hobbies. So I am considering having one of the shop owners die and get reborn to combine both EP.
