Community Closeness and You - A Look Into Tuning Files
Community Closeness (as referred internally) is a feature from Eco Lifestyle expansion pack that adds many new phone calls and visitation events.
Lately, I have been having this idea: what if there was somewhere on the Internet that goes over every Community Closeness events...
I haven't found any yet...
Fortunately, as I've lately been looking into tuning files a lot, I've decided to go through a lot of these files and share the results here. Not only would it be fun to share, but also it allows easier look to these events as tuning files have about 252 files to look through.
Of, and do remember that in some of them, the special roles are going to be in there. These and their default sims are:
Playing with these sims won't remove their roles (and may have special interactions too). However, if a Community Closeness event requires them, another sim will fill in the role, either being generated if there's none or drawn from already existing ones if there are.
So, here's a list of Community Closeness events and that results will these have (under Spoilers of course).
Note. Unless otherwise specified, relationship points refer to the friendship track.
Visits
Intro to Civic Policies
Yes, that thing that replaces Welcome Wagon in Evergreen Harbor is one of Community Closeness events.
When your sim moves in and aren't sleeping, then at 12:00 PM, an Eco Master will come to introduce voting for green.
When you greet them, this pops up:
If you ignore them, this message will pop up instead:
Afterwards, an Entrepreneur comes to introduce voting for profit.
When you greet them, this pops up:
If you ignore them, this message will pop up instead:
Both encounters will give you 10 influence points each.
Birthday Gift
When your sim is about to age up, a sim (that is not a Maker) may come with a gift.
Inviting them in will have them hand over a present. I've included a list of potential objects your sim may get under spoilers.
Random Gift
A sim will come with a gift. Sims with Champion of the People trait are more likely to receive gifts.

If you are rude to neighbors and pollute the environment, a sim may just barge in. They may be:
They'll say this:
They'll then proceed to break your objects. It's a sabotage interaction, but it ends up with explosion effect and the object immediately being broken. You can either wait until they are done or fight them to get them to leave.
- An Eco Master with who you have bad relationship with (Disliked or lower).
- A sim with Green Fiend trait and/or Hot-Headed trait you have really bad relationship with (Despised or lower).
- A sim from the phone call that you took money from (More on Phone Calls section).
They'll say this:
Your lifestyle is ruining the environment! Don't you even care? Since you refuse to hear my advice, you give me no other option than to take matters into my own hands. The trees have spoken...

- They're coming soon. Maybe you should think twice about opening the door.
