Comparing Newborns New and Old (Edited Pictures for a More Fair Analysis)

I can see how some may think they're ugly, but for me the main thing is that they look more like actual newborns and less like dolls or something. They also seem more expressive but I may be imagining that. The skin tones have also been improved so that they have a better range. And to be fair, babies don't tend to look great right after birth for obvious reasons so I don't necessarily mind the newborns being kinda ugly.
