I get why people would be upset. I do.
But I don't agree that this was sprung on them. The notice that this was going to happen eventually has been available for a while. It's not up to EA to make people go read things. Heck, most people don't read EULAs or Terms of Service, but they still apply.
And "how many people go look at X" isn't a valid reason to be upset, in my opinion. I got caught flatfooted because my laptop doesn't have the memory to handle the latest Windows update. It just flat out isn't there. I went looking for help and found a news article saying that cheap systems like my laptop were out of luck - dated three months ago. Plum to be me, but that's the way it is, and it's up to me to find a way to deal with it. Not Microsoft.
