I typed in why is apple getting rid of open gl and it went to Mac. It said it there they have metal ready in September instead of later this year. it also states about their system outdoing intell. I am not a Mac player so I can only go by what i read on their site. Type in questions and get your own links it is how i do it.
This is how misinformation gets perpetuated. 'metal ready in September'?? What you are saying, or trying to say, simply makes no sense. I asked you for a link because, honestly, I don't believe that you fully understand what Metal is so would like the exact source you are quoting from. Or are you reading about Apple using their own chips to replace Intel in the future? What does Intel have to do with Metal? Are you looking at benchmarks with integrated chips and how they perform? Have you looked at similar benchmarks for NVIDIA and AMD GPUs? Are you looking at current models or going back to the earliest 2012 models capable of supporting Metal?
I am pc all the way - personally i don't care what Apple does - or what machine is better than the next - I get the machines i know and play on. I simply wanted to know where EA is getting blamed for something if it was true or not and it isn't. Apple can do what they want to do and it really is none of any of our business anyway - but i do like knowing the truth and what the users of that equipment are actually saying.
Cinebar's original point is that EA stated too late about dropping support for 10.7 Lion users. I agree that it would have been good to get the information out there earlier but those with compatible hardware can update to a later OS so it's fixable.
One more thing, dropping support for Lion users has nothing to do with Metal and everything to do with the ActivationUI file in the game.
