Confusion About Nannies

Hello All~

I've never explored or played with nannies before, so I am a complete noob.

The nanny works fine when you have a sim go to work (non-active career) and leave the toddler or baby at home, you get to sit around and watch the nanny do their thing.

However, I've run into a few confusing matters.

1. I have a single mom who is in the active science career. I join her everyday, instead of sending her daughter to daycare, I hired a nanny a few hours before, the nanny came and was there. I joined the mom at work, and the daughter was sent to daycare anyways, was this supposed to happen?

2. My sim went out (same one) for a evening and hired a nanny, I choose to follow the mom, once we got to the bar venue, the notification said her daughter had been sent to daycare.

Are these things normal? Or what is going wrong? Thanks for any input!

Sounds about normal. When it comes to leaving with your sim to work, save your sim's money and just send them off to daycare because even if the nanny does show up, your toddler won't gain any skills. They will just become inactive, while you the player is away at another lot.

Its normal if you have a single sim. In order for the nanny to work you'd have to let your sim go to work alone.

Hmm, I see, alrighty, that kinda sucks... but okay, have to be with the mom to do the active career properly.

You can still play the toddler if you get a nanny. My toddlers skill up all day while their parents are at work and the nanny is there.

I tend to use daycare as it is free, and I dislike the nannies constantly ringing to hang out!

Nannies get downright creepy after the kids age out of needing them. It's creepy enough when they show up to work flirty, and then once your kid is an adult, the nanny sometimes asks them out on a date!

They have also become stalker level obsessed with the partner of the sim that hires them and tries to get them to divorce. Only 1 nanny (A male elder) was any good but then he died and my whole family wouldn't stop crying for 3 days as they all had full friendship bars with him.

I had the best nanny, an adult male, Nanny Dowling, who became friends with the whole family. Unfortunately, he got replaced eventually with another guy, who was not as good. When the child, Jenna, aged up to teen last night, I even invited Nanny Dowling to her birthday party.

My only couple with toddler right now has had the same nanny every time they went out. She is now a good friend of the whole family. I forgot her name, would come into the house and first thing make a simple meal, like grilled cheese. She would play with Cicely and read to her, so naturally she would be part of the family almost.

She's the only nanny I've hired so I think I got a good one. The family is filthly rich so I don't mind spending the money. :D

The nannies in Sims 4 need to learn when it's time to leave. I've had them stick around for days sometimes. :D
