I don't feel a need to ever go there again. I bought the pack on sale mostly for the CAS items, but even then I didn't really realize how cold the "English" cottage look leaves me.It doesn't help, I guess, that the entire time in the game it was raining but the world just looked like a swamp; more so than the so-called New Orleans-inspired Village Creek that is very much not looking like a swamp despite New Orleans well... being built in one. Imagine Village Creek with turtles sunning on logs? And dragon flies? And well... alligators ;) ?Anyway, I have never liked the British Cottages look and there is only that. No modern neighborhood, it just gets more and more like a cross between Emmerdale Farm and The Wind In The Willows the more you look. Maybe with some Potter (Beatrix, not Harry), of course. All those rabbits and all.I guess one person's Cottage Core is another person's Kitsch?I am looking for a place to start as a nature loving Sim, but once again for me, Sulani seems to be the only viable option. I thought the winter was drab and grey and didn't give a winter wonderland vibe. Windenburg has nice weather and even some British inspired lots. Alligators in Willow Creek would be lovely. You can use the weather machine to change weather in Henford.

HoB is probably our most realistically tuned Sims world when it comes to climate. That’s UK right there, and nobody seems to like it. I checked the weather forecast on my in-game calendar as it is nearly Winterfest and unsurprisingly it looks like my sims will get the usual rainy ‘n drab green Christmas. In fact it seems to be a Louisiana Town backlot at a Hollywood studio. The climate is definitely not right. Also, no hurricane warnings ;).The thing is my Sims tend to be Outdoorsy and Sporty, enjoying long jogs with or without dogs and hikes and things like that. Unless I set their weather preference to "Love Rain" they will constantly interrupt their jogs and complain about the weather. Also the umbrellas are so buggy in this game still that I can already see the constant open-close-open-close stuck animations when they try to talk to a fox or something.

People keep forgetting that University was also based in England specifically, and that one had amazing weather. Right now in my goldfish brain I can't remember what British city specifically they used as inspiration, tho.

That is exactly how I feel about Seasons. I'm trying to like it but it's just not working. I'm using it right now as a challenge because of the gardening, with different plants usable in each season, that's ok. But honestly, I really don't like that pack, and I've had it nearly a year! I'm about ready to turn off the weather effects; I'm wondering how or if that will change things (other than eliminating freezing to death and lightning strikes). Yeah, it makes things pretty in the fall and if it snows, but otherwise, what is the big deal? The only good thing I can say about having it is that at least I bought it 50% off.

"okay, I had to scrap all my plans for today because there's a rain storm so I can't do any proper work outside. Oh look, my bug farm just died because I didn't get out and cuddled it in the thunderstorm". Yeah sure, it's like real life, but it's annoying AF.

Not to mention the mass deaths of NPC sims in pools during winter. Mostly fixed now, but I had a paparazzi freezing to death in the Center Park in San Myshuno because she was wearing a swimsuit in a snowstorm.

That is... yeah. It is. Hence the river boats in the background and all. It really is supposed to be Lousiana but they forgot to put anything remotely Lousiana-ish in there. It looks, and feel, more like a... generic European small town but with American style buildings, for some reason. Heck, Oasis Springs is way way way WAY closer to what it is supposed to be, an "outskirts of Las Vegas" part of town. Seriously, you can even see the casinos in the skyline.
