Has anyone tried to go on vacation if they animals at home?

One thing I love about a new pack release is to read about simmers learn from trying. I would probably have skipped the vacation totally, so you were clever taking the animals with you. Now I wonder if we could create a vacation home specially aimed towards farmers, with room to bring their animals :) But then, it would probably not be much like a vacation after all, LOL.
Hm... did anyone test what happens to animas left at home after say 5 days, or after 10? Maybe they will always survive, just be dirty and hungry when we return? We could always pretend that someone is looking after them, but then I'd like them to be at least just slightly dirty.
