Cottage Living

Hi Guys. Is cottage living worth getting. Is there a career opportunity within it.

I bought it on sale, but I really do enjoy the pack.
It is nice if you want your Sims to live off the land, and the world is beautiful.
So far I tested it with some of my Sims, but plan to give it a longer play through.
  • It's definitely worth getting. Others praised the new world, and making a living from farming is obvious. I like how you can make a strategy (not a game feature directly) where you grow something in order to produce something that you will earn your income from. You might become more focused on growing what is useful for your sim's lifestyle or interests/earnings. Say, you can keep cows to produce Milk, in order to "cook" Cheese, that you can sell directly from inventory, or with some better earnings from the sales table (or a retail store even, if you have GTW pack). Or you can keep Llama in order to shear wool, to use for cross stitching, to sell those products. One major feature imo is the Canning - with the right skills and good quality ingredients, you can make a much better income from your harvest by canning and selling the stuff. Through canning you also get more ingredients - like from one tomato you get 3 cans, and in a recipe 1 can = 1 tomato (iirc). Yu also get a bit of wild life (foxes, rabbits & birds) which can be added on hood level in other worlds, too. And there is a new Famers Market (restricted to this world). It adds to community, but I find it a bit meh in the long run, but you can bring your sales table to make it feel a bit more interesting (I never focused on growing the giant crops because it is not possible when playing on rotation).
  • Such a shame this pack came out at a point in my life where I barely played The Sims 4. I recently came back to play one of my oldest saves and plan to focus on Growing Together and Cottage Living, then I'll get Horse Ranch when it's on sale. As far as I know most players have called these the best ones in a while.
