I like that it's easier to set Sims up than it was in Sims 2. I feel like if you instigate something (in this case, the dirty joke) and the mood is right, there's a good chance your Sims will go for it. It would be nice if married Sims were more hesitant to react to romantic gestures, but at the same time, the Sim who reacted to the joke could have also had a, "Wait, what the--? No!" moment. You could have had her yell at him or insult him. Like she was caught off-guard and then had a quick reality check.
I've only once had Sims try to Woohoo autonomously. I've also never had Sims with no romance bar get anywhere past a tiny bit of pink autonomously--usually from someone using an enchanting introduction.
I feel like easier cheating is a downside of the game fighting me less in the romance department. I'd rather just play more carefully. (If the Sim isn't the cheating type, have them confirm someone is single before any sort of flirting action and shoot down any NPC's attempts to flirt if I'm playing a married Sim.)
