I like them both and am looking forward to getting the CoL kitchen. I have the CK (I won it!) and love the look of it. To me the fancier CoL kitchen is for the family with more money, while the plain CK kitchen would be in a farmer's house. I will happily use both.
I figure this was one of the options they came up with for this pack and since they had it and were starting kits it seemed a good way to get some $ for the work of creating it. That way the effort wasn't wasted. I don't mind that - I like having more stuff. Will I buy every kit? Nope.
