This is exactly it for me. I play rotationally; I will be filling HoB with households, and using elements of the pack in other worlds as well. I am glad that I will have more options and won't have to look at the same exact kitchen over and over again.
Basically, I like the kitchen items from both; they are similar, but definitely not exactly the same. So I'm glad I bought both.
Honestly, I understand that some people are completionists, and I can understand the inclination, but I have learned in life (not just with the Sims) that you have to know yourself. Know what you do or don't actually want or need, and then make a rational assessment about whether it's worth it to you with the resources you have. And unlike healthcare, housing, etc., everything in TS4 is a want, not a need.
