Cows, Llamas or one of each?

Simple question, but I can't seem to decide for myself.
My newest Sim/s have a sweet little farm in Brindleton Bay. They have a cat, dog, chicken coop and garden; plus two animal sheds. Should they purchase two cows, two llamas or one of each?

Oh, bonus points for name suggestions in comments. His name is Michael. The jack russel is Toby and the ginger cat is Ginny. <3
  • Easy peasy answer :D

If you'd only had one shed I'd have gone for a cow as milk is more useful for self-sufficiency.

Names: Milka the Cow and Sheera the Llama.
  • I still need Cottage Living, but for now I'm hoping to get Growing Together next because I'm very focused on families currently. I do wish you could customize and paint the cows and llamas and rabbits like you can cats and dogs, though, so I could make Batcow and my brother's girlfriend's rabbit.

Cow for milk and Llama for the wool. Even though you don't knit or have any other uses for the wool you can always sell it. You can also exchange it for animal clothing from the animal carer dude that lives in the little cabin.

If you've got room for two, it's definitely one of each. One animal will produce enough milk (or wool) to meet all of your family's needs, unless you are, I don't know, putting a full family of 8 on nothing but cheese production all day, every day.
  • I always have both! Good ol’ “Bessie” the cow and “Tina” the fat lar— err, llama!

Sounds like you want 1 of each animal, so it would make sense for your gameplay to choose 1 cow and 1 llama.

I don’t find the llamas fairly useful. Cross stitching isn’t as fleshed out in my opinion as knitting so I don’t bother with that skill or that animal since I don’t need wool.

But for you, it seems like it would fit.

You can use the wool in more than just cross stitch. Knitting, for example :p
  • On the farms I've played so far I usually have one chicken coop & one animal shed since I don't like having huge lots. I typically alternate between having a cow & llama, replacing one with the other as they die. But the one time I played a larger lot that had two animal sheds, I had one of each. As for names, I tend to use older names like Beryl, Madge, Thelma, Daphne, Roger & Eric. Alternatively, I name all my animals, chooks as well as cows & llamas, with the same starting letter.
