I couldn't believe this when I first saw it. Seriously? The last one hasn't even ended yet!!! I don't want to be pushed into gameplay and the UI is annoying me to bits. I hate that it cuts into the screen, opens up when I don't ask it to and blinks. Can't it just be in scenarios where you opt in? Or at least give us an option to opt out.
EA, listen carefully, forced gameplay is NOT fun. Let me choose!
For those who are excited and think this is fun, I'm happy for you, I don't begrudge you your fun, just let me opt out.

The last Event ended on November 19th, a week before this post was even made.
There is no forced gameplay, you don't have to do anything you don't want. If you dislike the Event, you don't have play it at all. You can opt out.

My sentiments exactly, there are way too many negative players, I for one am grateful for any extra gameplay that is made available to me, and the freebies of course.

Happy you are happy, but try being compassionate to your fellow sim players who are clearly unhappy.
Frankly, I am unhappy about the events because its broken. I was unable to participate in the Reaper Event because the troubleshooting instructions didn't work for me. The exclusive BB/CAS looked amazing and it is bad business what EA is doing. As someone who owns every pack and kit (and has been playing since Sims 1) i want those items issued to everyone. I want events postponed until more bug fixes are are posted. I want the events to actually work for everyone ...not just a select few.
If the game is too buggy/broken to handle events, then SDX drops and scenarios need to return until EA can fix their product... because they are literally destroying it with these events and pushing away lifelong players.
Again, happy you are happy, but it is bigger than just a few players being negative. The game in it's current state is unplayable and there should be more QA opportunities for these issues to finally get resolved. There is a bug in the game that has been there since 2016...2016!

Not entirely. EA is using FOMO (Fear of Missing Out), which is an actual tactic to pressure people to be motivated. No one is being held hostage and forced to do these events. But you miss out on stuff if you don't do them, and you're actively being pressured to do them within a certain time frame or you'll lose out. And that's assuming you can actually make the time to play, because every time we see these events, we also see people who will have to miss out because of one real-life responsibility or another.
The best thing they could do is remove the limited time aspect. That way, people can do them whenever they want, without any pressure and without having to change their schedule. And this would add a form of permanent, repeatable content.

It's true that I do not have to play, per say, but playing or not, I got that grim reaper icon in the middle of the game, with a panel that opened up every time I switch characters, that overlapped holiday or party panels and which blinked to remind me there was something to do. Since I did NOT participate last time, it didn't go away on November 19th, there were hings still for me to do, I just didn't want to do them.
What I am asking for is for a way to opt out of of the challenges that I do not want to do. I don't mind the gameplay, I don't mind others doing this, but I want to choose if a particular challenge is for me or not. I do not think that is being overly negative, that's giving honest and constructive feedback.

I can't understand what you mean by forced gameplay to be honest. You have an option, a choice not to play for the rewards, I believe with Reapers Rewards there was an option to end the event early. I think you have to see the bigger picture that Simmers like my granddaughter who can't afford a lot of the packs, only what I buy her, this enables her to get some extra stuff in her game. Please do not pressurize the Sims team to not do these events.

It's "forced" because we can't BUY the objects. Let's be real: everyone WANTS more content, we WANT the OBJECTS - but the gameplay is not good. Come on. You want to skip some boring and stressfully buggy game and FOREVER miss out on those objects and feel that FOMO FOREVER? No. No one wants to just skip it. We want a good game!!

No, it isn't optional. At least Reapers wasn't. The wretched menu popped up, blocked a corner of the screen and all but screamed for attention. It wouldn't stay minimized. It couldn't be made to go away. If there was an option to "end it early" I never saw it.
All I'm asking for, all a lot of people are asking for, is a real option to click on and say "I don't want to play this" and have it go away, and stay away, rather than staying the screen.
People who want to play these rewards should be able to play them.
If they are something you enjoy and that adds to your gameplay experience it's a good thing... for you. For me, it takes away from my gameplay experience. For me, just having that menu there makes the game worse. All I want is the option. For people who like it, they should be able to have it. For people - like me - who don't, we should be able to opt out.
The great thing about the Sims is that there is no right way to play.
All I'm asking for is the choice to play my way.
