But I shouldn't have to do this - EA should provide an "Opt Out" option.

Any idea how to collect them once the event is over? Buying them in the build buy catalogue and then putting them in a sims inventory should work but that doesn't feel like collecting.

OK, I updated my game and did the first tasks. The tasks were really short this time. Day two will start about an hour after I stop playing and by the next time I get a chance I already have a catch up on day two AND three. This event is obviously not intended for simmers with limited time in the game. Unfortunately the rewards are really nice so I am not yet ready to just pass on them without trying.
I have made the resolution to let go of my negativity and just focus on the positives. I really enjoy playing this game without the stress of event. As long as it is possible to play a sandbox game, I will. Even if that horrible event icon is there 24/7 to remind us that EA wants to turn this game into something else. I will have to let go. Not to please EA but for my own mental health. I am done stressing over this kind of thing. Life is too short to waste energy getting mad over something I used to enjoy.

i completed all the goals and ir did not say i was complete like the grim reward and when i hover over the rewards in the panel it says "unlocks soon" - when?

I really enjoyed playing the Grim event and am enjoying playing this one as well. I appreciate that the event doesn't take a long time to do as this time of the year is very busy for me and I have very little time for playing my computer. I love all of the rewards, especially the holiday decorations! My sims (like me) love to decorate their homes for each holiday. I look forward to more events like this and hope they continue the tradition! It would be great to have items for each season/holiday time throughout the year! Thank you!

I'm not one to log in an Karen to a gaming company, but I play the sims probably once a year (usually in the winter) and this event is annoying af. No way to opt out and every. god. **bleep**. time I travel or do anything it's popping up and in the way of everything on my 13" laptop screen again. I don't want the crap from it (which apparently only goes to the sim I'm currently playing so if I want my other households to have it I have to fulfill the tasks for each one? I don't know, and I don't care to find out, but if that's the case lol that's some real **bleep** gameplay -- just make it a buyable item or something). I don't care about fulfilling these stupid tasks, make it all go away!!!!

Yes...since they just announced another one for February 4...will have to shelve this game again if they're going to force this on us without the ability to opt out, preferably for all of these events.
