Has anyone attempted to create-a-pet after taking the entire family into cas.fulleditmode? Yes, it's a cheat, but sometimes even in the pet stores in Sims3, you can't find the type of pet wanted.
Are you talking about My First Pets pack? It's not the same as Cats & Dogs. You get the CAS in the EP, I don't own the MFP pack.
