I read the interview about this over on The Sims Community site. Perhaps I'm wrong but it seems this is not the entire plan but to eventually make the game gender neutral and therefore help change society (by remarks made in that interview) and or influence through the game to change society and gender neutral language be used as the norm in society by helping to influence this through EA games. I'm not sure if I actually comprehended this correctly (the interview) but that was my take away from the discussion. Anyone can correct me if they read the interview and if that isn't the goal eventually. It certainly read that way to me.

I'm again disappointed with Maxis because I have just a few questions. I'm sure this will take a great deal of discussions with particular groups of GLAAD (I hope I got that right) and others to implement this the way they see it. Therefore, it will take a great deal of time and pay to implement this. Good for those who want other pronouns nor none at all. However, how much dedication and effort is Maxis putting into representing the disabled? Any? Inclusivity only seems to be for a particular market and ignore or erase all others. And disabled aren't the only folks not represented. So, if this is about inclusivity and diversity, I'm still waiting for Maxis to actually be inclusive and diverse instead of claiming to be and only doing the work of one niche group.

Yeah from looks of the interview, maybe its only talking about the game in context of this update, but it sounds like more focus on the game being used as a tool for social change rather than, you know,a game. Which is why ive been losing interest and faith in the series. I am holding onto hope Sims 5 will be different but nothing is pointing towards that.
