Dates

Is anyone else having issue with dates (in game not in real life, though my track record there is pretty abysmal, but I digress)? I've had my couple (Jake and Hunter) who have maxed out both relationship bars go on a date for Love Day but they couldn't even get to a bronze, so I tried again when I took them on vacation and had the same thing again. Previously in all the times I've taken Sims out on a date there's only been one time I've got a silver and every other time it's been gold.

So is this just an issue I'm having or is anyone else having bother as well?

Cheers,
B
  • Is the sim you're controlling the same sim who asked for the date?
It can be confusing if both parties are in the same household, because only actions taken by the person who asked for the date will count toward the goals.

  • Ironically the most difficult thing to accomplish on a date is "socialize 10 times". Friendly and funny interactions usually do it, but takes time. Romantic interactions don't count as 'socializing', which is a bit silly, but whatever.

Talk about things, ask things, complain, compliment, use any extra ones like enthuse.

The rest is usually easy like flirt 3 times, flirt while flirty, sit and talk, give a massage, deep conversation 2 times, etc...

Insightful, but I disagree form my experience. If both are in the same household, then it can go much faster switching back and forth and queuing in interactions.

Disclaimer: Not trying to ruin the romantic aspect of Sim dating. :D ;)
  • @Admiral8Q If the sim who was invited on the date does the interactions, do they count in your game? In my game they never have. Only interactions done by the sim who did the inviting count.

I'm not Admiral but my experience has been if both sims are in the same household it doesn't really matter who invited the other, the interactions count the same. I haven't had a sim on a date in months though and haven't really played the game for that long. All of that to say, something may have changed since I last played so take it with a grain of salt.

  • Are you following the list of actions the game gives you to follow? On dates I play on speed 1 to have enough time to do all the actions(Talk with your date 10 times, have a deep conversation 2 times) speed 1 and pausing are your friends on dates

That's my standard approach and despite going for a wide variety of different socialising options (small talk, interests, hobbies, compliments, etc) none of them seem to land or register and I've barely got to 5/10. It's the same approach I've always used and has never failed me before, until today.
