De-Bugging a house

So I have a legacy house that is 6 generations in and it is getting really buggy. People stand around and wait for a good 30 seconds before starting the next task- the laundry baskets don't have the do laundry option available anymore but there is nothing in the washing machine (had to delete it and buy a new one) my Toddler with level 5 movement can't use the stairs -- all weird stuff that comes from having so many generations of Sims live in the same house with the same stuff -- I mean the majority of the stuff is the equivalent to 200 years old, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but does anyone know how to sort of "re-set" the lot and the stuff on it without deleting it?

I tried to use the "debug" option to fix the washer and the toddler but it didn't help.

  • How many sims are currently living on the lot? If there are more than eight sims, that could mess things up.
How much 'clutter/stuff' is in the lot?
    Is the lot MOO heavy?
  • How about your Sims inventories? Perhaps, you might want to delete some. Normally, it depends on the headcount, the lot size, and the inventories. I'm not sure if you can keep some small items in the chest box. Probably, it could help reducing the simulation lag.
