I actually got a bit depressed myself when my sims' lost their mother/grandmother. Katherine Mooney was one of the first sims I made in sims 4. I actually made her late-husband in the CAS Demo prior to the base game's release. They have both since passed and have two children(one of each gender) and four grandchildren(three girls, one boy).
Their oldest grandchild is my current avatar. She just became a young adult!
