Youtube linking on here is broke right now so you need to click on the link. It's from SimCommunity.

This is exactly why we can't have nice things. Can we wait to actually see about this death type, rather than what you thought you saw on video?
Just posted the video. Have a look.- samsam7137 years agoNew Ace

Being the New Shiny Death, it might have gotten a bit overhyped. The SimsCampers may have also had access to some cheats that made it more likely for Sims to jump in and get munched on (from what I've heard the death is just a new way of drowning without the effort of building a wall around a pool). I'm still getting the random death from freezing (ironically considering the name it's typically Katrina Caliente, usually in San Myshuno when she's wandering around at night in her skimpy outfits) but at least the joggers and basketball players are safe now.
In my opinion, the fix is rather illogical. The team should prevent joggers and basketball players from spawning when it’s cold outdoor in the first place instead of making them immune to cold weather... - @Pamtastic72 - I don't have mods, but before they finally patched it, I experienced the winter-deathwave outside the WC gym. It wasn't mod-induced, because I don't play with mods (yet). EA's team did finally manage to experience the deathwave themselves (saw a post --possibly someone quoting a tweet -- to that effect).
So yeah, it wasn't mods. It was a genuine, EA-bug.
eta: my sim was running around trying to plead for all the dead sims, and succeeded in some cases, but due to a horrible action-lag, failed in others. It started with one dead npc, but several others froze and fell over just as my sim arrived, and there were always at least 4 dead sims on the ground at a time, with another about to topple and some others turning blue. I could not keep up! The death-toll ...well, if it had been real, it would have been covered in the national news, and maybe the international.
Definitely not "whining" to complain about that bug! - GalacticGal7 years agoLegendThis is the first I have heard of this. My opinion is, rather than have the Devs tone it down, which will make it so others who wish to experience it have a very hard time having it even happen, I'm going to suggest that a player be more mindful of their Sims and keep them away from the pond. :)
- Hermitgirl7 years agoSeasoned AceI'm interested in jumping in the pond in first person now...

agreed- also I think your complaining about this to early you have no idea what it will be like
- paradiseplanet277 years agoSeasoned AceThe Gurus will cover the pond in today's DSV and BB mode showcase livestream; questions about the pond should be asked then.
- MVWdeZT7 years agoSeasoned AceThey did have a Sim drown in the pond, but they really had to work at it, getting his energy level down to where he was almost asleep. Sims can be bitten by a shark while playing with one, but it's not fatal, they just get a moodlet.
