The SimsCampers may have also had access to some cheats that made it more likely for Sims to jump in and get munched on (from what I've heard the death is just a new way of drowning without the effort of building a wall around a pool). I'm still getting the random death from freezing (ironically considering the name it's typically Katrina Caliente, usually in San Myshuno when she's wandering around at night in her skimpy outfits) but at least the joggers and basketball players are safe now.
In my opinion, the fix is rather illogical. The team should prevent joggers and basketball players from spawning when it’s cold outdoor in the first place instead of making them immune to cold weather...
