As with other events I still don't like the 'now or never ever again' principle. If EA would rotate passed events like sims freeplay did or give the items to everyone for example a year after the event ended, then I wouldn't object to them at all. But as they are now they heavily rely on FOMO which I dislike. If you miss out, you will never get a second chance. With every gallery download, even basegame only, you can never be sure if your sim or lot will be complete. For example let's say someone makes a small business lot with the new ticket kiosk and another play without these reward items downloads this, then they will end up with an incomplete lot because an essential item is missing.
As with most other event rewards, some of the items themselves look nice. A table top ticket kiosk will certainly be useful. And the first new pets outfit since My first pets stuff in march 2018. A new toddler slide is also welcome since until now there is only one for sale (toddler stuff) . The second one was an early buyers reward from growing together so anyone who didn't buy that pack back then will never be able to get it. The blog post specifically says if people don't have the required DLC yet they unlock the items, they will be available should they buy the DLC somewhere in the future is appreciated.
I am glad it's only logging in, and not actually spongebob in our game for the event. But the log in schedule? I already know I will never be able to log in 5 days in a row, especially on Christmas. Are we really expected to spend our entire Christmas break constantly thinking about the sims? So I will definitely need the catch up time afterwards.
