Delete Friends?

If mods are okay for you, you can set the relationship level for individual sims with weerbesu's "UI Cheats Extension". Just right click on a sim's portrait in the relationship panel and set the relationship to whatever level you want.

@GlacierSnow will this delete them from the list? I want to be able to delete them from the list all together. I have a lot of "barely" townie friends. You know, like how you unfriend people on social media. Just no longer visible

It won't delete them directly. If you set it low enough to make them not friends, they'll disappear from the "friends" tab, but they'll still be on the "everyone" tab. But if you set the relationship to 0 and then don't interact with them for a few days, they do seem to disappear.

There might be a more direct way with Deaderpool's MCCC mod, but I don't use that mod enough to know. Someone else might have an answer for that if you go over to the mod request thread: https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/867567/mod-request-thread/p1

MCCC lets you delete relationships with sims right from the relationship panel. It also has settings to have the game delete relationships below a certain level. I have it set to delete acquaintances and below from the relationship panel to keep the list manageable. I forget how often it does it but there is probably a setting for that too.

Manually changing the friendship level won't delete them from the list of friends until the relationship itself is also culled. Which happens at specific days/times. UI Cheats does remove them if you set it to 0 though, but running just the cheat code to do it won't.

If you are willing to use a mod solution, a fast solution for removing multiple friends at once is to use MCCC. With that mod you can click your sim, select "MC Command"->"Relationships"->"Delete Relationship" and then you get a sim picker where you can select every single sim that you want to remove from your Sim's friend list. It applies instantly, sets the relationships to zero, and removes them from the list of sim's relationship panel entirely.

Another mod solution is Carl's Gameplay Overhaul mod which adds a new cheat code "carl.fixfriends" and if you type "carl.fixfriends 20" in the cheat console, for example, it purges all relationships of 20 and below for the currently selected/active sim. You can use whatever number you want in place of the 20, that was just my example.

@RedShoe7 Is the relationship deleting feature in MCCC part of the base mod, or is it in a specific add-on module? I only have the base mod at the moment (for the teleport feature), so I'm curious. It sounds useful, and probably what the OP is looking for here.

@Stormkeep excellent, thank you. I have a few serial romantics who are also beloved and so on and the friendship list is out of control. It's out of control in general. I only want relevant sims in the entire friendship panel from everyone to lovers to enemies that's specific to each sim.

The townies who's names I can't even pronounce can go.

@Wahini2024, Just a word of warning if you also follow @RedShoe7's suggestion to have MCCC auto remove friendships below a certain level. There's a downside to that, which is that if you have a sim in a non-active career, or a child in school, it will keep deleting new relationships formed with coworkers/classmates before your sim has a chance to work them up.

Career performance and School performance are both very heavily effected by making friends with coworkers/class mates, so that MCCC setting works against you unless you are pro-active about making sure to raise coworker/classmate friendships quickly once they are added to your sim's relationship panel.

I mean if its randomized folk i'd just delete them in household management no more trouble poof
but if its the actual household sims yeah idk im also suffering from stalkerish Don Lothario atm

(its not time yet don please be patient bella will eventually visit your house just stop calling her 10 times a day)

I also have feeling that maybe not being in a club reduces some phone calls cause ive recently had more of them and my sims are in a club which i do not usually do at all

@Stormkeep very good to know. My Sims tend to take photos of or with other sims and I often have them buy incredibly friendly to help with the friendship decay. I'm on long rotations so clubs help with this as well. Some are beloved but not many. So I can build friendship bars kinda easily but my kid sims would struggle a little without some help.

Why isn't it just an option like we have in social media? For that matter why am I restricted to one best friend but can have 10+ boy/girlfriends. I always like my spouses to be best friends but not always at the cost of losing a sister as a best friend.

I would love a friendship overhaul at some point to have the easy option of just deleting sims from the friends list and allow at least 3 best friend options. Still, being rid of unwanted townies is a start.
