Ah, okay. I didn't know we could view screenshots taken that way in-game. Interesting. I guess it's true we do learn something new everyday, eh? ;) Where is the button to view those?
Anyway, in that case, I'd agree with the Simmers above. If you remove those from the screenshots folder, you won't be able to view them in-game anymore.
It's the circle swatch looking thing (I guess it's supposed to look like a camera shutter) near the speed buttons at the bottom.
Deleting the files in the screenshot folders deletes pictures viewed with this button. I knew that. But what about those pictures my sims took and hung on their wall in their houses? Will they also be gone or are they stored elsewhere because they can be transferred through the gallery.
No. The screenshot folder is extra. Any camera pictures are in the hard-copy of the game until actually 'sold' or deleted in-game.
To reiterate, the screenshot folder is not connected to anything in-game. - Admiral8QNew Spectator

The photos you took and hung on the wall will still show up when in the game. Tho, you will not be able to find them in the screenshot folder once you have delete them. I'm guessing they are stored somewhere but the resolution will be very bad and pixelated. You probably maybe need some mod or The Sims Studio to extract it out but I'm not 100% sure if someone has figured out how to do it.
I think we are getting too complicated here. The question was:
"If I deleted my screenshots from the screenshot folder, will they also get deleted from being viewed in the game? "
Answer, no! - SimmervilleSeasoned Ace

Ah, okay, cool. I've seen that button before, vaguely remember reading it had something to do with memories, but have never used it. Thanks for the tip! :)
Ah, I learned something new, too! :) I don't understand what that feature is for though. Except perhaps masking sure that a screenshot was taken... or if taking many it might be good to get an overview while in game. I normally switch to windows explorer, and don't plan to change that.

Ah, just discovered "make memory" in there. I never saw that before, better test it :) Assuming the chosen screenshot will actually show as a thinking bubble above a sim in game? - Admiral8QNew Spectator

Two different wordings to explain the same question is always helpful. Personally I don't mind a bit more detail in the answers.
Thank you both for your answer.
The screenshot folder does not affect the pictures in game. It's not connected. It's there to make screenshots easier to take, and share with others if you like. :)
It won't affect the quality of the pictures in-game either. That is coded in and saved like everything else withing the game. Completely separate. :)
