I like what I am seeing in the trailer. I fear for lag on my pc if the snow would actually contain depth, so I am very glad they made it like this. Of course, I also see the difference with The Sims 2 and 3, and I also like the depth better, but it is a matter of choices. I rather have decent gameplay and a game that runs smoothly than realistic looking snow."celipoesias;c-16499363" wrote:
People, The Sims is still a computer game, and it has adjustable graphics options. They would not necessarily have to force a person to use deep snow if this were related to possible falls of pertormance on less powerful computers. They could simply create a new, separate graphical option that would allow players to choose how they want the snow to work.
That is look at all players as a whole, benefiting both those with more powerful machines, and those with less powerful machines. In my opinion, it is wrong to condition the way the snow worksin a universal mode even to the people with more powerful machines, and who could enjoy the deep snow without absolutely any kind of problem.
I think you are right that there could be an option to choose the snow depth level and I think the developers have considered it. The addition of snow depth would probably also have meant less gameplay objects, because it would have taken more development time. And by the looks of the trailer we are getting lots of activities, like skating, gardening and arranging flowers, snowball fights and water balloon fights, swings, kiddy pools... Some of these have been requested for a while andsome of these probably had to be cut if they gave us snow depth.
No offense to you but this is the problem with sims 4
People have accepted that its fine to get handful of objects that cost $40 and then loose stuff because apparently there isn't enough time?
Sims 3 had more objects than sims 4 in the trailer. Open oceans which was a huge thing that came in a free update. Gradual changing weather, snow depth, aliens that are way better and more fun than sims 4 aliens. Festivals, holidays, trick or treating. A whole attraction system with online dating. It was a huge pack and not once did they say they had to do this instead of this.
I'm not saying sims 4 seasons is bad but I can bet it has much less in it like every sims 4 pack compared to the sims 3 counterpart. So no I don't think having flower arrangements is a good reason to be happy with no snow in a seasons pack.
