Detective career broken?

Unfortunately, the career was always broken for me. When it was announced I was very excited to play it but finding the suspects was always an issue. Clues never matched, the criminal sim never showed up, or bystanders just stopped interacting with my sim entirely. The expansion was released in March 2015 and it feels like it's been broken since then, I could be wrong though. I doubt it will ever be fixed. The firefighter and other ambitions careers from Sims 3 were never fixed either.

Ok, there were very few clues because I was less stellar in finding them in the first place but now I have scouted the internet a bit for what to look for next time I have to sweep a crimescene. Very happy that I had made that save in case the clues did not fit.

I always waited until I had all five clues or is it six before I accused anyone and it always worked but the game has bug where they may never show up at all since the gender patch way back.

Think I had four clues this time. Since it worked so well the first time I am just going to hope that the career has been fixed. Hope springs eternal.

I really do not like the idea of older things in the game being left broken and then adding new things on top. However I have encountered this before in other games I have played.

It is a bit naughty when the content thats broken is still being sold and physically advertised to sell the pack as a whole, theres a detective on the box art.

I'm so sorry to hear that. I know I re-started my failed Legacy Challenge back in 2015, and my Gen. Two heir went into the Detective Career in December of 2015. He became a Chief is all I can say by early 2016. So, it wasn't always broken, at least not in my game.

Just arrested a criminal after interrogation.

When I went to make the arrest the clues were completely wrong. I just looked for what the witnesses were doing, the rest of them were all pointing at a specific corner of the room. There were two people there so I did a took a lucky guess.

This career has not been fixed, it was Caleb the vampire that was the criminal. According to the clues he is a gloomy female with black hair wearing a tank top.

Could it be that all the crazy clothing bugs (detective suspects, festivals, sad clown ...) are connected and caused by the implementation of Pets and their new clothing category?

Pets hasn't been released, yet.

Is the detective career still an issue for some simmers?? Im getting really irritated... Can't find any clues what so ever and its not for lack of trying trust me, tried on different days and even went back to the police station and back to another crime scene and it was just the same. I can't seem to order and APB either no matter what i try. I played the detective career when GTW first came out and it was fine so i know im doing everything right. And my sim dresses in her uniform as soon as she gets up like its her everyday outfit which is just annoying glitchy. So frustrating

Ugh is this really still broken? I was about to make one of my Sims a corrupt detective. I guess I will test it out and see but I really wish they would fix this career because it is one of my favorites.

They have not fixed this yet.

No they havent fixed it and working around the problem takes FOREVER.
