Did Jacques Villareal kill his wife?

Max could not have done it, he would have been a toddler or a kid at the time and even if he did do it it would have been an accident, like a fire or something. People would have automatically blamed his dad and that would have had an effect on his childhood making home evil. But personally I just don’t think max could have done it. Also, what do we know about his mother? Because for all we know she could have died by natural causes. Not only that but it could be Katrina Caliente for all we know!
