Did you get any cool ideas from the 411?

I loved reading all the responses from the 411 yesterday! Did anyone notice any trends in the responses or see any ideas that they thought were particularly amazing?

To be honest, I didn't read anyone's posts but I've watched a lot of different sims videos and the one thing everyone is interested in is rags to riches. Players are looking for challenges but some are looking for more fun and entertainment. With that said, of course you're going to have all types of players asking for different things cause we all have different personalities and interests. I, however, don't like zombies, warewolves and vampires but I won't judge anyone who wants that.

Looking at it from a general standpoint, it's not what you say but what you do. I'm sure most, if not all simmers have played a rags to riches challenges in some shape or form. I actually like that challenges but I often wind up thinking of ideas. Like, I was playing rags to riches a few days ago and was wishing maxis would come out with some dirty looking clothes and a soup kitchen, a place to sleep for the night like they had on that movie, "Pursuit of Happiness" with Will Smith and his son. I wanted more challenge like, not being able to find a job until after you've reached a certain level in skill.

The job interview idea is not a bad one. It can be something similar to applying to college.
  • I like the job interview idea too.

Both the university and career entry could be adapted with things like interviews, presentations for jobs like social media and journalism, guidance counsellor interviews for university students etc.

Yeah! And interviews for private school. I miss being able to send our kids to private school. The headmaster was always so funny.

The issue with rags to riches is that you can buy the land plot and then live a carefree life with all the amenities on a community lot. You can pay your bills on the phone so you don't even need to visit the lot. If you have a freelance career again you never have to visit the lot after you buy it. I would love if we could define empty community areas as rentable apartment spaces. I always build apartments above community venues so sims can properly rest if they go out, would e nice if they could rent them like regular apartments.

I wouldn't want job interviews, but maybe they could do it like a lot challenge in that there would be job advertisements for different job positions specifying requirements like skill, experience, etc. You could get the chance to change career or start at a higher level if you have the skills for it. Maybe sims with traits like confident or beguiling and high charisma skill could even get the jobs they apply for even if not entirely meeting the requirements. Would also love if sims could get professional skill certificates in order to apply for a job. It's nice that they can cook or fix something but if they don't have a university diploma they should be able to get their skills certified.

I forgot about that. Which part was that? Sims 2 was it? Yeah, sims 2 had some really great features. I like story telling. I think it came with the sims 2 generations, right? The ability to take screenshots and save them in a household log and just watch them when you want to be updated on what happened in the household so you can continue the storyline.
