No. Just no. Absolutely not. I've kept quiet about this particular topic long enough.
I do not want disabilities in my game at all. I've lived with disabilities all my life, been bullied because of them. I don't need them in a game that I play to escape from life.
Wheelchairs and crutches for broken bones/temporary injuries? Fine. I'm cool with that. But no disabilities, please.
I think the Sims games are meant to be a universe where everyone is accepted. I'm sorry to hear about your troubles @NyteRose . But I would love to see an alternate world in which disabilities are accepted. After all, I do not think the vampires and aliens suffer from too much discrimination! :) Part of the beauty of the Sims games is playing with a life simulator to recreate our Sims' lives as we want them to be. This is why I think disabilities should be optional, just like the gender patch. My Simself wants to be in a wheelchair, knowing that other Sims will not treat her any differently. I might not be able to have that in real life, but I want a world of acceptance for my Sims.
Sims 4 is too cartoony, light-hearted, and non-serious for disabilities to be a wise move. They won't be able to do it justice.
