A little bit of an explanation for my last idea: Of course, it's much harder to complete the challenge in the Young Adult lifestage, that is before a Sim reaches Adulthood, than it is to complete it until Elderhood. But what I meant is that you'll keep playing with the same Sim much longer if you choose to keep playing with him/her/them until they reach Elderhood. That's what I put "hardest" after the Elderhood part of the challenge and not the Adulthood one. I hope I didn't confuse you any further. :p
Also, adding to the first idea, the household could either start with 0 Simoleons or 100 Simoleons for a bit of a range when it comes to difficulty.
