Thanks for doing this experiment. :)
For me, all Uni sims will be played through Uni with aging off.
So day one of their first day on the job is day one of their aging advancement with a higher salary and their earning potential will be much greater than sims who did not go to Uni. I just won't allow them any cheaty opportunities like money trees, or make them scavenge and hustle like my sims who start at the bottom do.
I will stick to my plan of giving them the extra bonus of cheating them through aspirations that I don't intend to play, but still have useful reward traits. This will give them the extra ability/personality growth that TS4 does not offer with extra trait slots. Plus, during Uni, you can give them aspirations that align well with their course of study. I still plan to use the reward points to purchase re-traiting potions to change their traits after graduation.
I will be giving sims the more fun traits for their younger years, but switch them as they mature as young adults through Uni.
The chosen new traits will reflect my experience with them and how I have been playing them. Non-uni sims will just have to earn the potion.
